Janet Ann Titzer, 53, of Elberfeld, Ind., passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center. She was born March 29, 1961, in Ferdinand, Ind., to Albert E. and Elenora E. (Hildenbrand) Schilling. She married Craig Titzer, January 24, 2004. Janet worked at Deaconess Women's Care P.C. OB/GYN RN Triage Nurse and St. Mary's at Home Homecare RN. Janet graduated from Forest Park High School in 1979; Evansville Practical Nursing Programs and an LPN in 1981; Capped as a nurse on February 3, 1985, and Pinned as an RN in 1986, both from Vincennes University (Jasper). Janet was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the American Legion 124 Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband Craig Titzer; three brothers, James "Tex" Schilling, Thomas Schilling (Sue), Mark Schilling (Mary); three sisters, Joan Beckman (Ray), Karen, Mary Ann Schilling; brother-in-law, Bob Merkel; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elenora Schilling; brothers, Albert David Schilling, Edwin C. Schilling; sisters, Carol Jean, Susan E. Schilling, and Margaret "Margie" (Schilling) Merkel; sister-in-law, Norma Jean (Kippenbrock) Schilling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. (CST), Saturday, February 28, 2015, at St. John the Evangelist, 5301 Daylight Dr., Evansville, Ind. Father Jason Gries will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 8 -10 a.m. (CST), Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elberfeld American Legion. Arrangements are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, Ind., (812) 983-4211.
