Jerry Gordon Brummett, 73, of Elberfeld, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born in Evansville, IN on September 20, 1951, to Robert and Rosalea (Pease) Brummett.
Jerry, “Gordon” as he was known best, was a “Jack of All Trades.” Early in life he was the owner of Bob’s Body Shop in Elberfeld, IN where he repaired and painted some truly beautiful vehicles. Later in life, his expertise in scrap metal led him to Indiana Recycling in Evansville, IN, where he passed on his knowledge to others and proved to himself once again he could create a thriving business out of nothing that could rival the most educated and wealthy men. Gordon was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, canoeing, hunting and gardening. He was also a true artist. He loved painting beautiful landscapes, doing leatherwork and learning many other hobbies, most of which he mastered. He was also a proud member of the Gold Mining Association of America. Gordon will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Gordon is survived by his children, Jeri Corn of Oakland City, Kristy Britt of Tampa, FL, Cody Brummett of Boonville, and Jennifer Bajzath; grandchildren, Bailey Corn of Otwell, Sydney Mason of Oakland City, Kenneth Raybon Britt III of Florida, and Genesis Brummett of Boonville; siblings, Roberta Boyle (Steve) of Evansville, Christina Browning of Loogootee, Johnny Brummett of Elberfeld, Roxanne Brown of Dale and Robert “Bobby” Brummett II of Elberfeld.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martie Brummett, his infant son, Randall Bruce Brummett, his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rose Britt, and his sister, Debbie Kay Brummett.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes Volkman Chapel, 2nd and Elm St, Elberfeld, IN 47613, with visitation beginning at 5:30 until the time of service. The burial will take place at Barnett Chapel Cemetery.
