JoAnn Seibert of Newburgh, Ind.
JoAnn (Lindenschmidt) Seibert, 72, passed away, Saturday, June 2,
2012, at Angel River. She was born April 5, 1940, to Valerian and Estelle
(Schmitt) Lindenschmidt. JoAnn graduated from St. Anthony School and
Mater Dei High School. JoAnn married Robert F. Seibert on September 9,
1961. She worked at Old National Bank.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in which
she was very active, she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and a Cursillo
Member. She was a past President of the P.T.A. of St. John's School.
Throughout her life she was affiliated in many clubs in Newburgh: she
served as President of the Newburgh Women's Club for 2 years and other
committees; active in St. John's Women's Club; scouting organizations and
Castle Band Boosters; and President of the Square Dance Club for 7
years, along with her husband.
JoAnn loved to sew, quilt, crochet, and square dance. She enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren, and making her daughter's
bridesmaid dresses, along with making special cakes for birthdays,
holidays and special events. JoAnn liked the outdoors and enjoyed
cooking and canning.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter,
Jocelyn List; brother, James Lindenschmidt; sister, Patricia Shaub.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert F. Seibert;
son, Nicholas F. Seibert of Delta Junction, Alaska; daughter, Ann Marie
Lahay of Sullivan, Ind., son, Gregory Scott Seibert of Newburgh; son,
Timothy Wayne Seibert of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Julie
Renee List of Newburgh; sister, Bettye Dippel of Evansville; eleven
grandchildren, Zachary Seibert, Sarah Seibert, Emily Lahay, Joanna List,
Isaiah Seibert, Jacqueline List, Dakota Seibert, Emma Seibert, Jadyn List,
Jack Seibert, and Jillian List.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 6,
2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd, Newburgh,
Ind., Father Joseph Ziliak and Father Attila Fröhlich will officiate and burial
will follow at St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, with a prayer service at 6
p.m., at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W Jennings
St, Newburgh, Ind., (812) 853-8314. Additional visitation will be from 9
a.m. until time of service at church, Wednesday.
