John Boyken, 59, of Newburgh passed away Friday, March 25, 2011, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born September 27, 1951, in Newburgh, to Murray H. & Thelma A. (Wilder) Boyken. John had a great heart & was full of humor. He liked to ride motorcycles; he was very mechanically inclined, very handy, & built his own home. John was a heavy equipment operating engineer for some 32 years in the Local 181 Union & was a member of St. Rupert's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray & Thelma; brother, Mac Boyken; sister, Jackie Boyken; & father-in-law, John Brady. John is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rosemary; brothers, Frenchie Boyken, Billy Boyken(Jan), James Boyken(Carolyn); mother-in-law, Rosemary F. Brady; brother-in-laws, John Brady (Pam), Ted Brady (Patti); sister-in-laws, Mary Hassett, Margaret Perry (Rich), Joanne Savage (Hal), Bernadette Timmerman (Doug); & 18 nieces & nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at St. Rupert's Catholic Church, 1244 W Red Brush Rd, Newburgh, Rev. Father Lowell C. Will officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W Jennings St, Newburgh, Ind. (812) 853-8314, and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clements Catholic Church Building Fund, 422 E Sycamore, Boonville.
