John Gilbert Crow, 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019. John was born in Evansville, on September 7, 1930.
He was a lifetime member of Centenary United Methodist Church and involved in the Good Neighbors Club. John was a 1949 graduate of Reitz High School and an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Evansville Otters, Indianapolis Colts, and the Reitz Panthers. He was raised on a small family farm where he continued to work until his retirement.
John is survived by his brother, Robert (Lee) Crow of Evansville; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.P.H. and Minnie (Brandenstein) Crow; sisters, Dorothy and Mildred.
He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend with a big heart and big smile. John wanted to thank his friends, especially Bob and Martha Freeman, and his church family for their love, fellowship and support throughout his life journey.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 14340 Old State Rd., Evansville, IN 47725. Pastor Danny Walker will officiate and burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Meyer Chapel, (812) 424-9288.
