John R. Deffendall, 94, of Evansville, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at River Bend Nursing Home. He was born on August 28, 1927, in Evansville, IN to the late James and Martha (Grigsby) Deffendall. 

John served in the United States Navy. He was a member of VFW#1114 and retired from Imperial Desk Company. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Deffendall, his parents, brothers; James and Charles, sisters; Catherine, Dorothy, Darlene, Marilyn, Martha, and Eilene.

John is survived by four children, John David Deffendall, Karen Ruth Vogt (William), Eric Vincent Deffendall, and Paul Vernon Deffendall; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great- great- grandchild sisters; Betty Hayes, and Carolyn Noel (James).

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Titzer Family Funeral Home, Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville, IN (812) 424-9288 with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. with entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
