John Williams
John Williams, 71, of Elberfeld, IN, passed away Wednesday, September 2,
2009 at his home with his wife and son by his side.
Johnny Cash would be saddened today by the death of his biggest fan. John
drove a truck for Elberfeld Block Company for 31 years and worked at
Elberfeld Recycling Center for the past 10 years. He loved working in his
garden, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He served in the
United States Air Force for 18 months and in the United States Army for 4
months.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, John Sr. and Dorothy
and his great-granddaughter, Abigail Williams.
John is survived by his wife, Flora Williams of Elberfeld; son, John Williams,
Jr. and wife Carolyn of Wadesville; daughter, Shannon Marshall and
husband, Brian of Elberfeld; sisters, Doris Fish and husband, Walter of
Seymour, IN, and Linda Burham and husband, Wayne of Grandchain, IL;
brothers, Denny Joe Williams of Seymour and Ronald Williams of Florida; 8
step-children, 16 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September, 5, 2009 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd. & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, IN.
Pastor Steve Oeth will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Evansville.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2009 and
on Saturday, 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
