It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Ann (Green) Dahl, 78, of Newburgh, Indiana, on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on August 23, 1946, to the late Julius Joseph (Zielinski) Green and Florence (Jakusz) Green.
Judith, lovingly known as Judy, was a graduate of University High School in Urbana, Illinois, and earned her BS and MS degrees in nursing education from Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Judy especially cherished her role as a grandmother to her two granddaughters, Nicole and Emily Dahl, of whom she was incredibly proud and loved dearly.
Judy dedicated her life to helping others through her work as an ER nurse and nursing educator. She taught at Kansas University, William Jewell College, Vincennes University, and The University of Evansville. Her passion for nursing stemmed from her unwavering desire to help people, no matter their circumstances.
An exceptional seamstress, Judy once ran her own small business, creating everything from dresses and drapes to upholstery. She was also a Master Gardener, and her roses still bloom radiantly in her backyard as a testament to her skill and care. Yellow was her favorite color. Judy was a strong woman who courageously fought and survived cancer.
This brief account cannot fully capture the immense positive and loving impact Judy had on so many lives. While we wish we could have her with us longer, we take comfort in knowing she is in a better place, and we look forward to the day we are reunited with her.
Judy is survived by her husband, Michael Dahl; her son, Chris Dahl (Angela); her granddaughters, Nicole and Emily; and her brothers, James and Dennis Green.
