Justin Alexander Yates of Newburgh
Justin Alexander Yates, age 21, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at St. Mary's
Hospital. Justin was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Newburgh, Indiana,
and an active member of Crossroad's Music Ministry Program. He was an
outstanding student at Castle High School and a class leader in Castle's Special Life
Skills Program.
Through his special touch on life and love, Justin unconditionally offered his life being
a mentor, motivator, care-giver, teacher, best-friend, challenger, jokester, and
enabler. His life represented the unending wonderful qualities of a Godly man. His
presence and love will be greatly missed.
Justin's death was preceded by his grandmother, Norma Portis, of Kuttawa, KY; his
step grandparents James and Edna Allen of Newburgh, IN; his step grandfather
Thomas (Doc) Simmons of Murray, KY and his loving aunt, Linda Littlejohn of
Kuttawa, KY.
Survivors include his father and stepmother Gary and Mary Jo Yates of Henderson,
KY; his mother and stepfather Ria and Pat Allen of Newburgh, IN; his step
grandmother Margaret Simmons of Murray, KY; his grandparents Renger and Bep
Van Lindenberg of Putten, The Netherlands; his sister and brother-in-law, Kristina and
Will McDowell of Lexington, KY; his brother Eric Yates of Lexington, KY; and all aunts,
uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2012, at Crossroads Christian
Church, 10800 Lincoln Ave, Newburgh, IN, Reverends Paul Linge and David Rinehart
will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m.,
Sunday, March 25, 2012 and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday at Crossroads Christian
Church, Newburgh, IN. Arrangements are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes,
