Karen Beth (Miller) Gesselman, 56, of Newburgh, went to be a guardian angel on Monday, March 9, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. She was born on December 18, 1963 to Andrew "Short" Miller and Charlotte (Adler) Miller. She attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Castle High School in 1983.. 

Karen grew up on Miller Farms on Epworth Rd. She was married to her best friend and together they represented a truly inspiring, devoted marriage. Karen enjoyed staying home to raise her children while babysitting. She then worked in Warrick Co. school cafeterias from 1999-2016. She loved watching and playing with her grandkids as well as camping with family and friends. Karen enjoyed refinishing furniture, needlework, and especially flower gardening.  Starting in 2003, she battled Renal Cell Carcinoma and vowed she would never give up, fighting to the very end, while always living for others.

She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Miller, father-in-law, Robert "Bob" Gesselman, and sister, Elaine Welder.

Karen is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael Gesselman; daughters, Katlynn Schnur (Nathan), and Haley Oing (Tanner); son, Kyle Gesselman; grandkids, Aiden, Blake, and Bryce Schnur; mother, Charlotte Miller; mother-in-law, Rosemary Gesselman; sisters, Diane Talley (Tim), Kathy Utterback (Bruce), and Doris Nichols (John); brother, Dennis Miller (Karen); sisters-in-law, Trish Goodge (Allen), and Jane Giolitto; brothers-in-law, Mike Welder (Patty), and Tim Gesselman (Stacy); many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Warrick County Special Olympics, 1744 Bawel Rd. Boonville, IN 47601 c/o Debbie Boyer-Treasurer or American Cancer Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd. Newburgh, IN. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN 47630 (812) 853-8314. Additional visitation will be Friday 9 a.m. to mass time at church.
