Lonnie C. McClure
Lonnie C. McClure, 88, of Elberfeld, passed
away Friday, April 4, 2008, at
St. Mary's Medical Center.
He was born January 2, 1920, in Mexico,
Kentucky to Roy and Duke (Wring)
McClure. Lonnie farmed in Livingston City,
Kentucky until he was 27 years
old. He lived in Evansville for 30 years and
retired as a Production
Expeditor for Arkla in 1982 after 25 years of
service. He was a member of
Washington Avenue Baptist Church since
1954.
He was a 32nd. Degree Mason-Shriner 7
years, a member of Kingsmen Sunday
School Class, Toy Group, 1963 UCT
(United American Travelers), Machinist
Union 30 years, TV Repairman 30 years,
and Servel 10 years.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents
and his 1st. wife, Mary (Guill)
McClure in 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Halwes)
Wheaton McClure of Elberfeld; his
daughter, Deborah Sue Nelson (Kenneth) of
Evansville; granddaughter, Donna
Nelson of Evansville; great-grandchildren,
Logan Overby and Autumn Burton
both of Evansville; and sister, Geneva
Foster of Evansville; step-daughter,
Darlene Chapman (Jeff) of Chandler; step-
grandchildren, Marc Chapman of
Kansas City, Missouri, Kendra Chapman of
Chicago, Illinois, and Chris
Wheaton of Lynnville, Indiana.
He is remembered by family and friends as
loving jokes and a good story.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday,
April 7, 2008 at Titzer Family
Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel 2nd. &
Elm Streets Elberfeld, Indiana.
Pastor Dr. James Frazier and Paul
Baumberger will officiate. Burial will
be at 2 p.m., at Hampton Cemetery in
Livingston County, Kentucky.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday,
April 6, 2008, and Monday 9
a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
