Maria Flor Del Mar Taylor, 69, of Newburgh,
passed away this 26th day of December
2008, at Columbia Health Care Center in
Evansville, Indiana.
Maria Flor Del Mar Taylor was born on July
27th, 1939, in Guihulngan, Negros Oriental,
but resided in Cebu City, Philippines, after
World War II, and continued her studies in
college in the University of Visayas where
she obtained her associate degree in
Bachelor of Arts, while in college she also
managed her business the Del Mar Fashion
for many years. Flor is the 8th child of Mr.
and Mrs. Ciriaco Villegas del Mar. Flor
came to the United States and became a
U.S. Citizen in 1983. Flor was known to
many as one of the greatest designer and
dress makers in Warrick County.
The road for her was long and at times very
difficult and she has now reached the end of
life's journey and is resting in the arms of
her Savior Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
Ciriaco and Alberta del Mar, her sisters,
Caridad del Mar Pinay, Lourdes del Mar
Lastimoso and brother, Rolando G. del Mar.
She is survived by her sisters, Rurrie G. Del
Mar and Ludy Del Mar Petterson (Leslie) of
Wisconsin; her son, Lee Del Mar Taylor of
Newburgh and brother, Esteban (Steve) Del
Mar of Cebu City, Philippines; and
numerous nieces and nephews in the
Philippines and here in USA, Bermuda and
Saudi Arabia. Also her adopted American
sister, Carolyn Strange of Newburgh, who
has been her faithful friend for 18 years.
And thanks to Amanda Chase for taking
care of Flor in her difficult times.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m.
Saturday, January, 3, 2009, at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd.,
Newburgh, Indiana, with Father Joseph
Ziliak officiating and burial will follow at St.
John's Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, January
2, 2009, at Titzer Family Funeral Home,
Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St,
Newburgh, (812) 853-8314, with a prayer
service at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be
Saturday at 9 a.m. until service time at St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church.
