Marie Turpen Marie Gertrude (Koester) Turpen, 90, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born December 6, 1918 in St. Wendel to Henry and Gertrude (Muensterman) Koester. She was a homemaker and of Catholic Faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Gertrude (Muensterman) Koester, her first husband, Victor Wargel, her second husband Charles E. Turpen, five brothers, Joseph H., Sylvester G., Aloysius J., Clarence F., Lawrence J. Koester, and one sister Martina M. Gansman. Marie is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Wargel of Evansville and other surviving children, grandchildren, Kenneth Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Karen Wright, Kendra Embry, Kay Belt, and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Kyle Johnson, McKenzie Martin, Cameron Belt, Conner Belt, Dawson Embry, and several other great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville, IN (812) 424-9274 with Rev. Carl Mann officiating and burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.., Tuesday, May 26, 2009, and Wednesday 9 a.m. till service time at the funeral home.
