Mary Jeanette Titzer, 81, of Newburgh,
passed away, surrounded by her
family, on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at
Newburgh Health Care.
She was born March 12, 1927 in Boonville.
Early in her life, she worked as
a telephone operator in Boonville. With her
beloved husband, Clem Titzer,
they raised four children, Rusty, Paul,
Gloria, and Jo, in their home on
Slaughter Ave. in Newburgh. They moved to
Owensboro, Kentucky around 1961
for Clem's job with the Corp of Engineers at
the Owensboro Lock and Dam.
She had many friends and for a time
worked at Mercy Hospital as a
switchboard operator. Later they transferred
to Paducah, Kentucky and
finally came back to Newburgh in 1980 and
eventually settled into
retirement.
Granny, as she has been affectionately
called since 1969, was a loving
wife, mother and grandmother. She never
hesitated to watch over the
grandchildren when needed, spoiling them
with love and chocolate, lots of
chocolate.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her
husband, Clem Titzer in 2002, her
mother, Betty (King) Campbell, and her
brother, Charles Tremper.
Beloved family members she leaves on
earth are two sons, Russell G. Titzer
(Pam), and Robert Paul Titzer (Cindy); two
daughters, Gloria Ann Titzer,
and Elizabeth Joann (Titzer) King (Billy) all
of Newburgh; seven
