Mary June Walker

Mary June Walker, 76, of Elberfeld, Ind., went to be with her Lord on April 23, 2017, at Hamilton Pointe in Newburgh, Ind.  She was born on September 3, 1940, in Evansville, to Nathan and Ruth (Henson) Bates.

June married Oliver "Jaye" Jewel Walker on August 17, 1957, in Evansville; they were happily married for 22 years.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, singing, playing the guitar and piano, painting, drawing, gardening, and cooking the best home cooked meals for her family.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Jaye, and her parents, Nathan and Ruth. 

She is survived by her children, Lynda Glover of Elberfeld, Greg Walker of Elberfeld, Gary Walker (Dewanna) of Louisville, Jennifer Collins (Matt) of Evansville; her siblings, Raymond Bates, Nathan Bates, Linda Lutz, Douglas Bates of Petersburg, FL; her grandchildren, Mandy Collins (Dustin), Nikki Walker, Rachel Davidson (Chris), Olivia Collins, Marinna Bryant, Nathan Walker and Walker Collins.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Sts., Elberfeld, Ind., (812) 983-4211.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville.
