Mary Magdalene (Seidl) Pitt Mary Magdalene (Seidl) Pitt, 84, of Evansville, passed away, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at her daughter's residence in Evansville. She was born February 19, 1927 in St. Henry, Ind. to Leo and Magdalena Seidl. She was a graduate of Huntingburg High School. She married Sheldon L. Pitt in 1949. Mary received a nursing degree from St. Mary's School of Nursing and worked for 40 years at St. Mary's Hospital in the Special Care Nursery. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in the city. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sister M. Loyola, OSB; four brothers, Jerome, Arthur, Joseph, and Dennis. Mary is survived by her husband, Sheldon; children, Stephanie Groenert (Rick), Steve Pitt (Karen), Michael Pitt, DDS (Martha) all of Evansville, and Greg Pitt (Cindy) of Indianapolis, Ind., Mary Stephens ( Bryan), and Janet Cox (Dave Coudret), all of Evansville, Dan Pitt (Lisa) of Santa Claus, Ind., and Patrick Pitt (Ami) of Evansville; seventeen grandchildren, Justin, Erin, Hannah, Alex, Adam, Abby, Nathan, Ben, Emily, Katie, Caleb, Maggie, Evan, Alexa, Logan, Natalie, and Ian; one great- grandson, Isaac; one brother, James. Services will begin at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church 610 E. Virginia St. Evansville. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Herr will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2011 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, or Deaconess Hospice or Our Lady of Grace Monastery, 1402 Southern Ave. Beech Grove, Ind. 46107.
