Merwin "Les" Lester of Evansville Merwin Lee "Les" Lester, 77, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born, August 2, 1934 in Rockport, IN to the late Chris and Norene (Redmon) Lester. He worked in management at Alcoa for over 25 years. Les was a member of the Salem Church of Darmstadt. He was a Mason and loved dogs and old cars. He was preceded in death by his 2nd wife, Mary Jane (Smith) Lester in 2001. Les is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Tarpley) Lester; two sons, Kenneth Lester of Newburgh, James "Jim" Lester of Elmira, OR; two daughters, Becky Griffin of Lees Summit, MO, Mary Willner of Darmstadt; and Betty's children, Frank Postin of Boonville, Shawn Clodfelter of Evansville, and Misty O'Connor of Erie, PA; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E Columbia St. Evansville (812) 424-9274. Pastor David Peterson will officiate with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday morning, 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be made @titzerfuneralhomes.com
