Minnie M. Thene, 98, of Elberfeld, passed away, Monday, August 25, 2008 at Good Samaritan Home. She was born, September 3, 1909, in Evansville to Otto and Clara (Meyer) Schultz. She was a homemaker. Minnie was the oldest member of Zion United Church of Christ in Elberfeld. For many years she was a member of the church's choir and guild. Her hobbies were baking and her flower garden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Thene; son, Donnie R. Thene, grandchildren, Lori A. Guffy and Mark S. Guffy; sister, Rowena Howles; brothers, Raymond and Alvin Schultz. Minnie s survived by daughter and son-in- law, Carol and Tommy Guffy, grandchildren, Rick Guffy (Tina), Lisa Lantaff (Greg), Terri Garrett (Stacy), and Tony Thene (Holly); seven great-grandchildren, Travis, Logan, Lindsey, Miranda, Tiffany, Taylor, Kendall. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 29, 2008 at Zion UCC Elberfeld, Indiana. Reverend Rick Bender will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Streets Elberfeld, Indiana. Additional visitation will be Friday, 9 a.m. to service time at the church. Condolences may be made @ www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
