Norman L. Garlet, 69, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of Franklin, Ind., passed away Monday, November 30, 2009, at Golden Living Center-Woodbridge. He was born, May 15, 1940, in Clay City, Ind., to Guy L. and Louise (Frump) Garlet. He was of the Christian faith. Norman was a retired chemist. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Enterprise. He retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer as a Nuclear Powered Surface Craft Specialist. He was preceded in death by his parents. Norman is survived by his daughter, Jade Garlet of Tennessee; his brother, John Garlet and sister-in-law, Theresa Garlet of Evansville. Services 1 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, IN. Rev. Robert Nall will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Club will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, December 2, 2009, and Thursday, noon to service time at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel.
