Opal Mae (Kruse) Graper, 96, of Elberfeld, IN, left this earth peacefully on December 11, 2009 to be with Our LORD and Savior. Opal was born on September 30, 1913, the oldest of five children. She was very involved in and a greatly respected member of the community of Elberfeld, supporting many of its events and organizations. She was a long standing member of the Farm Bureau and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and most of all spending time with her family. She was very proud of her family and helped raise her granddaughters Jennifer and Angie. Opal was preceded in death by Victor, her husband of 56 years, her parents Nora (Seebode) & Robert Kruse, brothers Charles, Harold and Lester (Sue) Kruse. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Dewey) Colbert of Evansville, her son, Robert (Vicki) Graper of Monkey Island, OK, a brother, Billy (Beverly) Kruse of Elberfeld, sister-in-law, Clevia Jean Kruse of Elberfeld, granddaughters, Jennifer (Eddie) Greenfield of Elberfeld, Angie (Jeff) Moffett of Newburgh, Christa (Mike) Thompson of Tulsa, OK, Kimberly (Zac) Bauer, of Richfield, MN, step grandchildren, John (Chya) and Mike (Kristi) Colbert as well as eight great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Sterling House, Angel River and Vista Care Hospice who lovingly helped with her care over the past 2 1/2 years. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd. & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, IN. Reverend Steve Oeth will officiate. Burial will be in Nobles Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice of Evansville Christian Life Center. Condolences may be made @titzerfuneralhomes.com.
