Services: A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 815 John St., Suite 195, Evansville, Ind. Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery

Oretha Pollard, 92, passed away, Monday, September 30, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born, September 10, 1921, in Reed Kentucky, to George and Ethel Bell (Hill) Smith. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and mother of the church. Oretha loved her soap operas, quilting, and gardening with her beautiful flowers. Oretha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. John F. Pollard, Jr., 2 children, Constance Yvonne Smith, Rolland Smith; 1 step-daughter; 1 step-son; 5 sisters; and 2 brothers. She is survived by her son, Tyrone Pollard of Evansville; 5 step-children, John Pollard of Evansville, Rev. Tony Pollard of Nashville, Christine Childers, Mary Ann Redding, Sandy Pollard all of Evansville; 3 sisters, Naomi E. Long of Evansville, Julie Pearl Core of Fountain, Fla., Joyce Ann Darby of Versailles, Penn., several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 815 John St., Suite 195, Evansville, Ind. Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the service time at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, (812) 424-9274.
