Patricia "Pat" Claire (Leary) Andersen, 79, of Newburgh, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020. She was born in Omaha, NE on September 11, 1940 to Mr. Raymond Carroll Leary and Mrs. Betty Claire (Berg) Leary. She graduated from Mount Saint Scholastica College in 1962 with a degree in Mathematics. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church since 1972. Pat enjoyed many hobbies and activities. She loved tennis with her friends, was an avid bridge player obtaining the ranking of Silver Life Master, a lifetime St. Louis Cardinals fan, and a storyteller of her many grandchildren’s antics. Pat was a loving, caring person frequently called upon by the Red Cross to donate blood. She also volunteered her time at the Newburgh Food Pantry because she believed no one should ever have to go hungry. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Leary. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ray Andersen; three daughters, Ann Carson (Greg), Kady Berger Gillen (John), Cecelia Sharp (Matt); three step-daughters, Cindy Downs, Sandra Andersen, Terri Feldman (Henry), 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Peg Lambrecht, Kathleen Holly, Cece Kaye; sister-in-laws, Judy Leary, Arlene Rosenburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newburgh Food Pantry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd. Newburgh, IN. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020, with a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314. Additional visitation will be Monday, 9 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial at a later date.
