Paul Eugene Barnett left to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully from his home on October 24th. He was 82 years old. Paul was preceded by his parents Noah and Anna Mae Barnett, and brothers William Barnett and Edward Barnett.

Paul was born and raised in Newburgh, Indiana, attended and graduated from Newburgh High school. Upon graduating he went to work for Shane Manufacturing and then joined the Sheet Metal Workers Local 20 where he worked for over 30 years retiring in 2006.

Paul enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League Baseball and later watching his grandsons play as well. He loved watching Notre Dame and Colts football and IU basketball.

Paul’s greatest passion and love was for “his” St. Louis Cardinals. From a young age until his passing, he rarely missed a game.

Paul was a man of great faith and was always willing to share it. Whether with co-workers and even more recently during his times in the hospital and different rehab facilities, if you knew Paul it was clear he was proud to be a Christian man.

He is survived by, as he would say, “His true love”, his wife of 55 years Barbara, his sons Scott and wife Holly, Eugene and wife Amy and daughter Kim and husband Max. Grandkids Natalia, Nathan, Maxie, Remington, Houston and Madeleine, and Great Grandkids Michael and Carson.

The family would like to express their thanks and deep gratitude to the many caregivers, doctors and nurses who cared for Paul over the past year.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 4th at 1:00 pm at Rose Hill Cemetery.
