Perry Gilbert Wilson III, 63, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at home on November 13, 2024. Born in Sullivan, IN, to Perry Wilson II and Mary (Owings) Wilson, Perry lived a life marked by his dedication to his work and the passions he held dear.
For around 30 years, Perry worked as a semi-truck driver, a profession he truly loved. Driving gave him a sense of freedom and pride, and he took great joy in the independence it brought him. His love for the open road was a defining feature of his life. He was known for his signature cowboy boots and classic button-down shirts, which became part of his personal style.
Perry also had a deep love for music, particularly 80s rock bands like Rush, Mötley Crüe, and Poison. These bands were often the soundtrack to his life, whether he was on the road or enjoying time at home.
He is survived by his daughters, Tara Wilson and Jerusha Wilson; siblings Michael Wilson, Bobby Wilson, Bill Wilson, Sherry Byers-Wilson, and Cindy Anderson; grandchildren Emerson, Dyllon, Maddy, and Ethyn; and his longtime, beloved girlfriend Carolyn Myers, along with their two dogs, Simon and Oakley.
In keeping with his wishes, Perry will be cremated, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Perry will be remembered for his warmth, his dedication to his work, and the love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the moments he shared with them.
