Randall "Randy" Allen Hillenbrand, 58, of Evansville, passed away, Monday,
September 21, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 16, 1951, in
Evansville to Frank H. and Aileen M. (Hettenbach) Hillenbrand. He was a
food services distributor.
Randy was a graduate of Rex Mundi High School and earned an Associate
Degree in Electronics from ITT. He was a life member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Past President of St. Joseph Church Council, and a representative
of the council for St. Vincent DePaul Society, Past President of St. Joseph's
Men's Club and a representative to the church council, and an honorary
member of the Altar Society. For many years, Randy was in charge of the
church bingos. He worked many Sunday dinners and summer socials and
bereavement dinners at the church. Randy was known, in the parish, as "Mr.
St. Joe" and he was committed to helping the poor. For his many extended
services, Randy was awarded the Bishop Brute Award and the Mother
Teresa Service Award.
He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Hillenbrand.
Randy is survived by his mother, Aileen Hillenbrand, sisters, Mary Beckwith
(Joe), Teresa VanMeter (Steven), brother, Rick Hillenbrand all of Evansville;
nieces, Ashley Burns (Josh), Abigail Beckwith, Sara Beckwith, nephew,
Sean VanMeter; aunts and uncles, John Hillenbrand (Louise) and Lucille
Kruse (Al) and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic
Church, in the city, or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 26,
2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 E. Virginia St. Evansville, IN. Rev.
Fr. Eugene A. Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2009 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St.
Evansville, IN. St. Joseph Parish and St. Vincent DePaul Society will
conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m., on Friday. Additional visitation will be
held on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the church.
