Richard A. Rothert, 64, passed away December 1, 2011 at home in Newburgh. He was born September 17, 1947 in Evansville Ind, to Alvin O. and Myrtle Exene (Ramsey) Rothert. He graduated from Castle High School. Richard retired from Alcoa after 30 years as a Supervisor in Mechanical Maintenance. He was a member of Newburgh United Methodist Church and the Boonville Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He enjoyed coaching his children in sports while they were growing up, and being around family, especially his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Emma Grace Rothert. Mr. Rothert is survived by his wife of 45 years Donna (Walker) Rothert, Newburgh, son, Derek (Kristy) Rothert, Kansas City MO., and daughter, Angie (Jeff) Fossett, Newburgh; six grandchildren, Maddie, Eli, Jessie Fossett, Avery, Kaelyn, Elise Rothert; brother, Dennis (Darla) Rothert, and sister, Sue Adams. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh Ind. 47630, (812) 853-8314. A private service will be held for the family under the direction of Rev. Chris Nunley at the funeral home at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made, in memory of Mr. Rothert, to any hospice of your choice and/or the American Cancer Society.
