Richard E. Freels Jr., 70, of Newburgh passed away June 30th. at home with his family by his side. Richard retired from Alcoa after 31 years of service. He graduated from Newburgh High School & Devry Tech. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and golfing. He attended First Christian Church of Newburgh and was a past president of the Newburgh Jaycees. He is pre-deceased by parents Richard and Margaret Freels. Richard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jamie; son, Tony Freels (Elaine); grandchildren, Riley and Savannah Freels; brother-in-law, Eddie Haddad. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Newburgh, 4544 State Route 261, Newburgh, IN 47630. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Anthony Stephens and Southern Care Hospice. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday July 5, 2012 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314. Reverend Mike Claypool will officiate with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday July 4, 2012 and Thursday morning 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
