Robert Basil Kelley
Bob Kelley, 83, of Evansville, passed away, Monday, March 30, 2009, at
Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
He was born April 1, 1925, in Tell City to Chester Kelley and Viola (Riffert)
Wilder. Bob graduated from Central High School. He served with the United
States Navy during WWII in Palermo, Italy. He retired from Kent Plastics after
42 years of service, during which he helped establish factories in England
and Ireland for the company. He was an avid fisherman and loved to sing.
He sang at various nursing homes after retirement.
He is predeceased by his parents, brother, Leroy Kelley and sister, Evelyn
Randolph.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years Margaret, a daughter, Carolyn Yeager
(Ronald) of Newburgh, a son, Michael Kelley (Joni) of Chandler,
grandchildren: Robert Yeager (Olga), Amy Sandlin (Jim), Randall Yeager,
Shannon Jones, Gabrielle Kelley, Joshua Kelley (Katy), Nathan Kelley
(Annie), Jonathan Kelley, Angela Kelley, Faith Kelley, Hannah Kelley, great
grandchildren: Emily Sandlin, Kathryn Yeager, Mikayla Kelley, Aidan
Johnson, Konnor Kelley, Daihmin Kelley, and David Jones, and nephews:
Casey Randolph, Jr., and Ken Kelley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2009, at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St., Newburgh,
Indiana (812) 853-8314. Father Ted Tempel will officiate. Military Rites will
be conducted at Titzer Family Funeral Home an e xclusive provider for
Veterans and Family Memorial Care. Burial will be private at St. Joseph
Cemetery, Evansville.
Visitation is 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2009, and Friday 10 a.m. till
service time at the funeral home.
