Ronald B. "Pops" Tate, Sr. of Evansville Ronald Benjaimen "Pops" Tate, Sr., 66, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 1, 1945 in Shreveport, LA to the late Claude Hugh and Ruth Lee (Johnson) Tate. He was a member of the Riverside Church of God and a United States Navy Veteran. He worked, 27 years, as a fork lift operator for Morton Ave. Warehouse and was a 19 year member of Teamsters Local 215 and a member of AARP. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mamie Lee Tate. "Pops" is survived by children, Ronald Lee Keach, Kathy S. Keach, Dena Tate, Ronald Tate, Jr. (Cindy), and Charles Tate (Paula); 13 grandchildren, Arrin, Ronnie, Brianna, Cameron, Wilfredo, Jeremy Lee, Marissa, Jason, Jeremy Alan, Jessica, Katelyn, Josh, and Hannah; great-grandchild, Cassie; 8 brothers and sisters, Linda Wilson, Thomas E. Tate, Jeannie Frere, Claude Tate, Reecie Ballard, Danny Tate, Donald Tate, Charlene Yvanez. A special thanks to Fire House #10 for all of their assistance. Services will be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Riverside Church of God officiated by Rev. D. W. Cobb. Contributions may be made to the Riverside Church of God.
