Rosemary Matthews, 83, of Elberfeld went to be with the Lord on October 4,
2009 at her home with her family by her side.
Rosemary was born December 30, 1925 in Vanderburgh County to Rollie
and Faye Sharp. She retired from driving a school bus for the Warrick County
School Corp along with her husband Gerald after 38 years. She also worked
as an aid at St. Mary's Hospital and as a cook for the Elberfeld School.
Rosemary loved her family, making various crafts for her children and
grandchildren, cooking holiday meals, and spending time with friends.
Rosemary also enjoyed camping and spending winters in Florida with Gerald
after their retirement.
Rosemary is survived by sons, Steven D. (Barbara) of Evansville, David
(Brenda) of St. Louis, Gerald D. II, and Rollie (Tracee) of Elberfeld; nine
grandchildren, Steven II, Eric, Sarah Matthews, Tracie Ferrier and Brian
Matthews, Leza Schoettlin and Jay Matthews, and Mandy Kirsch and Tara
Greenlee; and eight great-grandchildren, Zachary and Joshua Matthews,
Jackson Matthews, Madison Schoettlin, Blake and Parker Matthews, Levi
and Cole Kirsch; step grandson Kirk Evans; and brother-in-law, Russell
Matthews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Gerald, and
her parents Rollie and Faye Sharp.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM., Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Zion
United Church of Christ in Elberfeld, officiated by Reverend Rick Bender with
burial in Bluegrass Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday
at the Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Sts.,
Elberfled IN. 47613, (812) 983-4211. Additional visitation will be
Wednesday 9 AM to time of service at the church.
