Rosemary (Miles) Kaylor of Newburgh, Ind.
Rosemary (Miles) Kaylor, 92, passed away, July 11, 2013, at Hamilton
Pointe.
She was born August 18, 1920, in Washington, Ind., the daughter of
Raymond and Florence (Norris) Miles and the eldest of eight children. She
lived in the Evansville and Newburgh area all her life. On June 20, 1940,
she married Joseph Denver Kaylor, former owner of Kaylor's Shoes.
Before his death on November 10, 1980, they shared 40 happy years of
marriage.
Rosemary enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening (particularly roses),
playing cards, and knitting. She was especially fond of dark chocolate.
Above all she loved having her family together for dinners at her home.
Rosemary was the central figure of a large and extended family. She was a
kind and generous woman who enhanced the life of all her family and
friends. All who knew her enjoyed her contagious humor and wit. She lived
well, loved well, and helped all. Our community is a better place because of
her presence.
She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and received the Paul
Harris Fellowship Rotary Award (the highest rating award). Rosemary was
a proud member of St. John the Baptist parish in Newburgh since 1965,
where she sang in the choir for many years, where she enjoyed helping with
church activities such as the Summer Social.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother,
Russell; sister, Mildred Miles; and son-in-law, Jerry Hambley.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Jeisel (Jim) of Morgan Hill, Calif.,
Mary Jane Hambley of Burton, Mich., Dr. Robert Kaylor (Carroll) of
Evansville, Joseph Denver Kaylor (Kimberley) of Fairview Heights, Ill.; nine
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters, Ray
Miles of Indianapolis, Joe Miles (Lorriane) of Newburgh, Julia Wilson
(Ralph) of Evansville, Mary Lou Reising (Gene) Evansville, Marjorie
Johnson of Evansville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12noon, Tuesday, July 16, 2013,
at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd, Newburgh, Ind.,
Father Tom Kessler will officiate and burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2013, at Titzer Family
Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W Jennings St, Newburgh, Ind.,
(812) 853-8314, with a celebration of her life at 7:30 p.m. Additional
visitation will be prior to the service at church beginning at 11 a.m.
