Ruth I. Smith of Elberfeld Ruth I. Smith, 75, passed away, Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at her residence. She was born October 28, 1936 in Phoenix, NY to the late Gerald and Lois A. (Waldrun) Minnoe. She was a homemaker and a life time member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed flea markets, camping, family outings, and playing cards. Ruth is survived by her husband of 53 years, James H. Smith; three sons, Ed (Becky), Larry, and Paul (Tammy); three daughters, Yvonne Lucas (Ron), Delores Rager, and Kris Davis; 24 Grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary and Connie Marsh; two brothers, Bob and Gerald Minnoe, Jr. She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. A special thank you to Vista Care Hospice, Davita Dialysis, and St. Mary's 6th. Floor Renal Unit for their loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elberfeld Volunteer Fire Department. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Daylight. Rev. Fr. Jason Gries will officiate with burial in St. John Cemetery, Elberfeld. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012 with a rosary service at 7 p.m., at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Sts. Elberfeld, IN. Additional visitation will be held Friday morning 9 a.m. to time of service at the church. Condolences may be made @www.titzerfuneralhomes.com.
