Samuel I. Sanders, Jr. of Newburgh
Samuel I. Sanders, Jr., 70, passed away, May 12, 2012 at his home after a
long courageous battle of cancer.
Samuel served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the
American Legion Kapperman Post #44. He retired from Alcoa in 2005. He
was a member of the Eagles Country Club FOE 427 and the Isaac Walton
Gun Club.
Sam is survived by his wife, Janice; sister, Jane (Jan); brother, Robert; son,
Tim; step-sons, Frank (Suzie) Hale, Danny (Cindi) Hale; step-daughters,
Teresa (Tim) Woods, Tennia Cissell, Deonna (James) Hall, Janetta (Buck)
Robertson; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and his
special companion and beloved dog, Sammie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel I. Sanders, Sr. and Anna
Marie (O'Brien) Sanders.
A special thanks to Dr. Thomas Waits and his staff, and VNA Hospice,
especially Amy and Kelly, for their special care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at
Titzer Family Funeral Homes Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St.
Newburgh, IN. Rev. Fr. Joseph Ziliak will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill
Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the honor guard of
Kapperman Post #44.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday May 14, 2012 and
Tuesday morning 9:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
