Shannon Marie Dunbar

Shannon Marie (Specht) Dunbar, 83, of Evansville, Ind., passed away, Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Golden Living Center-Woodlands, Newburgh.  She was born May 6, 1934, in Evansville, to Richard and Marion (O'Bryan) Specht. 

She was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral, the Legion of Mary at St. Benedict, Eastside Lions Club, St. Mary's Medical Auxiliary for 40 years, Germania Maennerchor, and TOPS.

Shannon was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Marcus Dunbar; and second husband, Larry Neighbors.

She is survived by a daughter, Gayle M. Coomes (Harold); son, Michael B. Dunbar (Maryann); brother, David Specht (Diana); grandchildren, Bryan Dunbar (Emily), Daniel Dunbar (Chelsea), Ben Coomes, Andi Gayle Gude (Alex), Marie Povlinski (Bryan), Marc Coomes; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at10 a.m. at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, with prayers beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville, (812) 424-9274, on Saturday, July 15, 2017.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
