Shelby Ray Fulkerson, Jr.

Shelby Fulkerson Jr., 79, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at St. Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, Kentucky. Born on December 30, 1941 in Newburgh, IN the son of Shelby and Mildred (Herr) Fulkerson.

Shelby served in the United States Air Force and was a welder for Alcoa for more than 24 years. He belonged to the American Legion, Newburgh IN, Post 44 Kapperman, and held many positions. Shelby was an avid sports fan, especially IU and Indianapolis Colts. Shelby loved fishing and golfing with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Shelby and Mildred (Herr) Fulkerson, brother, Ray Fulkerson and Kash Wayne, great- grandson. Shelby is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ruth Ann (Younker) Fulkerson; children, Trish (Brian Rich) Wilson, Missie (Terry) Hufnagel, Christina, Mildred Ann, Donald, and Shelby D. Five grandchildren; Cody, Austin, Kylie, Madison, Emily and two great grandson, Huck and Eli, and sister, Mary Rose Kuhr.

Shelby’s wishes were to have no viewing or funeral services. Private burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Newburgh IN.
