Shirley Hornbeck Corbett

Shirley Hornbeck Corbett, 81, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home, holding the hand of her caretaker and best friend, Diane McConnell. Shirley was born in Evansville on November 16, 1937 to the late Reverend Glen and Betty Dyhouse. Shirley loved the Christmas season and loved to travel. She worked most of her adult life building homes with her family. Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, John Hornbeck, in 1989 and her second husband, Newman Corbett, in 2014, and brother, Deryl Dyhouse. Shirley is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Twila Hornbeck, and Tony and Teresa Hornbeck; grandchildren, Dr. Elizabeth Kandel (Stuart), Christopher Hornbeck (Nicole), Abigail Kaminski (David), Kinsley Shannon Samuel Hornbeck, Levi Shannon, Derek Hornbeck, and Jesse Hornbeck; great-grandchildren, Amelia Kandel, Oliver Kandel, Elin Kandel, and Charlotte Kandel. Shirley is also survived by numerous step-children and step-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., with visitation beginning at 4 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel, 510 W.
