Shirley Mae Kohlmeyer, 86, of Elberfeld IN passed away peacefully surrounded by Family on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.
Shirley was born March 23, 1938 in Evansville IN to late parents Herschel & Dorothy Nelson. She graduated from Central High School in Evansville. She went on to marry the love of her life, Clenneth, and started a family. She was a happy homemaker, wife and mother; she was also a devoted member of the New Jerusalem Community Church and a member of the Lynnville Order of Eastern Star 542.
Shirley and her late husband, Clenneth, were the owner/operators of Kohlmeyer Farm Supply which for years has been supplying fertilizer, seed and other farm products.
She is survived by sons, David Kohlmeyer and Darin (Erika) Kohlmeyer; grandsons, Bryce and Bryan; brothers, James Nelson and William Nelson; sisters-in-law, Elgene Nolan, Kathy Nelson, Dorothy Nelson, and Dot Kohlmeyer; and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Clenneth Kohlmeyer; sister, Joanna (Donald) Hayden; brothers, Jack (Carol) Nelson, Robert Nelson and sister-in-law Darlene Nelson.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 11 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at New Jerusalem Community Church, 125 1st St Elberfeld IN 47613, with visitation one hour prior to the service. A visitation will be held in Shirley’s honor on Monday, March 10 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at New Jerusalem Community Church in Elberfeld, IN. Burial for Shirley will follow the Funeral Service, at Northview Cemetery in Elberfeld. Pastor Rhonda Moore of New Jerusalem Community Church and Pastor Lisa Resler of Cornerstone Church of Chrisney will be officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Jerusalem Community Church and/or Northview Cemetery.
