Sidney A. Stanton, 77, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital. He was born January 27, 1936, in Evansville, to Ardell and Erma Rosalyn (Robinson) Stanton. He retired from Joseph Schaefer Furniture Company. He loved fishing and collecting guns. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Deanie and Jackie Stanton; sister, Rosalyn Stanton; and granddaughter, Therese Stanton. Sidney is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara; daughter, Misty Boyd (David); sons, Anthony Stanton and Jeffrey Stanton (Ravivian). Grandchildren, Crystal, Adrionna, Jeffrey, Anthony, Candice, Gavin, Connor, Amanda; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Wells, Bonnie Edwards (Donald); brothers, Jim Stanton (Bertha), Donald Stanton (Linda), Clarence Stanton (Mary); several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Scooter. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville, Ind. (812) 424-9288, Pastor Jeff Stanton and Pastor Mike Ballard will officiate and burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
