Susan Margaret Koester, of Evansville, passed away at Charlier Hospice Center on June 20, 2012 after a long illness. Susan (Margaret) was born on October 29, 1919 the daughter of the late Wilhelmina and Price E. Phillips. She was a graduate of downtown Central High School and member of the New Beginnings flock at Park Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was a resident of Independence Square. Before moving there, she lived on East Louisiana Street for 60+ years where she raised 5 children and attended to her fabulous garden. Susan's lifelong passions were animals, sewing and gardening. She is survived by sons Roger Koester (retired from ALCOA) and wife Bonnie; Danny Koester and wife Janet (owners of ABK Alarms), daughters Barbara Deutsch (retired from West Palm Beach School System) and husband Donald; Pat Day (retired from GE Supply/Indianapolis); grandchildren, Randall Deutsch, Bryan Deutsch, Carol Stanley, William Day, Michael Koester, Chad Koester, Kalah Muensterman; great grandchildren; Joshua Deutsch, Ryan Deutsch, Morgan Deutsch, Cory Deutsch , Nicholas Koester, Bristol Muensterman and Bayley Muensterman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 59 years, Harold V. (Pat) Koester, her son Harold (Little Pat) Koester and her brother Price A. Phillips. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Evansville, SWIRCA, or, Park Memorial Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday June 22, 2012 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St. Evansville, Ind. (812) 424-9288. Dr. Ray Parker will officiate with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday June 21, 2012 and Friday morning 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
