Thomas E. "Bulldog" Rowans, 73, of Elberfeld, Ind., passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015,at Deaconess VNA Charlier Hospice Care, after his fight with cancer. He was born July 26, 1941, in Evansville, to the late George and Thelma Rowans. Tommy worked for over 40 years with Servel/Arkla and also many years with Elberfeld Gardens. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and his loving dog, Daisy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and watching wrestling. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #64 since 1984. He also was a member of the Hadi Shrine, No-Ruz Grotto, and Order of the Eastern Star. Tommy was ready to volunteer for events at anytime especially if it was for kids. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl, of 27 years; son, Jeffrey Rowans (Dianne); daughter, Kathy Rowans; step-sons, Bryan Steele (Lisa), Brandan Steele (Becca); several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Grandchildren, Alyssa, Caitlyn, Meagan, Cole, Chris, RaeLee, Sierra, Shyann, Trevor, Krista; great-grandchildren, Sophia, and Aiden. The family would like to thank all the neighbors and friends that helped and a special thank you to the special hospice volunteer Mary. A celebration of his life will begin with a Masonic Service at 5 p.m. followed by a service by Rev. Keith Farmer, Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, Ind., (812) 983-4211. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to service time.
