Thomas Lawrence Head

Thomas Lawrence Head, age 64, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at his home. He was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 15, 1957 to the late Raymond and Wilma (Williams) Head.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Insulators Local 37. Thomas was a loving and generous guy, who would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He survived a hit and run bicycle accident in September 2019 in which he sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. Through rehabilitation his journey was long and it was hard. Thomas spent nearly 18 months in rehab centers and hospitals isolated during the pandemic crisis. His will to be independent after his injury was strong. Thomas was a stubborn man. During the last 5 months of his life, with the help of family and home health attendants, he was able to live in his own apartment. Prior to Thomas's accident he loved to fish and host big cook outs for his friends. In his last month he enjoyed being with his sister and brother in law and their dog Bella. His two year old great-great nephew Shawn always put a big smile on his face. He will be dearly missed. Rest in peace sweet brother, you have earned it.

Thomas is survived by his two sisters; Theresa (Mike) Hamilton, Mary (Charlie) Brooks, brother, Mark Head, four nephews; Joe Rickard, Andrew Angel, Paul Head and Jerald Head, three nieces;  Rachel Lancaster, Natalie Griffin, and Ericka Angel, several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Paul Head.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Simpson Chapel 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN (812)853-8314. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, 5133 State Route 261 Newburgh, IN 47630

A visitation will be held from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the at the funeral home and 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Warrick County Humane Society, 5722 Vann Rd. Newburgh, IN 47630.
