Timothy Ray Rhoades

April 9, 1959 — January 18, 2025

Newburgh

Timothy “Timmy” Ray Rhoades, 65, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 9, 1959, to Ray and Ruth (Holsey) Rhoades.

Timmy was loved by his family, friends, and employees. He shared 42 years with his loving wife, Angie. Together, they created a lifetime of joyful experiences, especially enjoying their vacations to places like Las Vegas, Florida, and visiting the Ponderosa Ranch.

After graduating from Castle High school in 1977, he followed in his dad’s footsteps and became a skilled brick mason and general contractor. In 1994, he and his brother, Jim, proudly took over the family business, Rhoades and Curry Masonry and Construction. Through his work, Timmy not only built structures but also lasting friendships with many of his clients and colleagues.

A true “people person,” he had a remarkable ability to turn strangers into friends and found joy in simply sitting and talking with those around him. He was a self-proclaimed “river rat” and loved spending time at his family’s river camp on the Ohio River, at French Island Marina. He delighted in watching old westerns, savoring good food, and sharing countless good times with family and friends.

A big thank you goes to his niece, Kim, and sister, Kathy, who did all they could to care for him during his illness.

His warmth, humor, and love for life touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he brightened.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Angie Rhoades; sons, Jeremy Kirsch and Branden Kirsch (Liz); grandchildren, Brayden Kirsch, Isaac Kirsch, and Bella Kirsch; mother, Ruth Rhoades; mother-in-law, Mary Seddon; father-in-law, Charles Vickers; siblings, Kathleen Lewis, Anna Marie Herr, Jim Rhoades (Onya); and his extended family and friends who all loved him dearly.

Timmy was preceded in death by his father, Ray Rhoades; father-in-law, Vernon Seddon; mother-in-law, Wanda Vickers.

In true Timmy fashion, attendees of the memorial service are encouraged to dress casually and comfortably. This celebration of life is a reflection of the way Timmy lived—warm, welcoming, and down-to-earth.
