Verna (Stephens) Yaser
Verna (Stephens) Yaser, 87, of Newburgh,
formerly of Evansville, passed away,
Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Angel Rivers
Health and Rehab. She was born in
Lynnville, Indiana on November 10, 1921, to
Homer and Bessie Stephens. She worked
in the bookkeeping department for Servel
during WWII. She was a member of the
VFW #1114 Auxiliary, and the Lady Owls.
Her hobbies included gardening and
spending time with her family, especially her
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
her husband, Paul Yaser; three sisters,
Verla Eldrige, Ruth Parmele, and Ruby
Grant.
Verna is survived by daughter, Gail Day and
her husband, John and son, Gary Yaser all
of Newburgh; grandchildren, Jason Yaser
and his wife, Jennifer, Joe Day and his wife,
Alessandra, Cortney, Paul and Brandon
Yaser; great-grandchildren, Jessica and
Joely Yaser, and Liela Day; sisters, Betty
Singer, Charlotte Dus, and Jean Murphy.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday,
February 19, 2009 at Titzer Family Funeral
Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W.
Jennings St. Newburgh, Indiana. Burial will
be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Evansville.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
Wednesday, February 18, 2009 and on
Thursday, 9 a.m. to service time at the
funeral home.
