Wallace “Wally” Heaton Williams
Wallace “Wally” Heaton Williams, 92, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. He was born on January 22, 1926 in Freedom, IN to the late Heaton and Mina (Abrell) Williams. He graduated from Freedom High School in 1944. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a store manager for IGA until 1992. He retired from Schnuck’s Grocery Store in Newburgh at the age of 87. Wally was a Christian and a member of the American Legion in Spencer, IN. He was an avid sports fan, especially, IU Basketball, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, and the PGA. Wally loved spending time with his family and friends.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 69 years, Mary Kate (Helderman) Williams died in 2016. He is survived by his son, Dennie Williams (Beth) of Newburgh, his daughter, Deanna Heckman (John) of Spencer; five grandchildren, Trent Heckman (Dina), Courtney Biehl (Ted), Corby Heckman (Jessica), Natalie Oxley (Tony), and Zach Williams; seven great-grandchildren, Ryne, Rece, and Rhet Heckman, Cohen and Jora Heckman, Ella Oxley, and Theo Biehl; two sisters, Janice Skeel of Worthington, IN and Leota Fulk (Jim) of Spencer, IN; sister-in-law, Pat Batton of Barberton, OH.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. CST Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh, IN (812) 853-8314. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Spencer, IN at 2 p.m. EST with visitation at noon, at the West Parrish Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 N. Montgomery St. Spencer, IN. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, IN.
