Wanna Faye (Herter) Highsmith, 89, of Elberfeld, passed away Thursday, October
13, 2011 at her residence. She was born on July 10, 1922 in Evansville to Charles
and Effie (Hanes) Herter. She graduated from Central High School and was a
member of Nobles Chapel Methodist Church. She was retired having worked for
Windsor Plastics and as a cook at the Elberfeld Schools. Wanna enjoyed gardening,
fishing, camping, Cardinal's Baseball, IU Basketball and especially, spending time
with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Highsmith in 2010. She was
the last of her family.
Wanna Faye is survived by three daughters, Shirley Brinker, Beverly Render (Warren)
all of Evansville, and Diane Bilderback (Ron) of Ft. Branch; nine grandchildren,
twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their loving care.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2011 at Nobles Chapel
Methodist Church, 5478 East 1250 South, Elberfeld, IN. Reverend Lisa Ressler will
officiate. Burial will be in Nobles Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Titzer
Family Funeral Homes ~ Volkman Chapel, 2nd. & Elm Streets, Elberfeld, IN and on
Monday 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Nobles Chapel Church or Southern Care
Hospice.
