Elberfeld resident, Wilbern A. Susott died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. Wilbern (90) was born to the late Adolph G. and Louise Susott on July 21, 1923. Preceding Wilbern in death was his parents, his only sibling, Luella Arendell Menke and his son, Jimmy W. Susott.
Wilbern is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 70 years, Opal O. (Ours) Susott; daughters, Karen S. Hughes (Caregiver) of Boonville, Linda L. Ball (Jay) of Evansville; sons, Steven (Marsha), Gary, Glen (Judy), and the late Jimmy's wife, Theresa, of Elberfeld; seven grandchildren, Christina L. Schmits, Michael J. Schmits (Danyelle), Debra S. Smith (Charles E.), Lori A. Ball, Scott A. Susott (Anita), Jason A. Susott, Montana W. Susott; and seven great-grandchildren.
Wilbern was a very loving, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. With Wilbern's passing there is another angel in Heaven. Thank you, Jesus, for giving Wilbern to us.
Wilbern retired from farming.
Services are 3 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Volkman Chapel, 2nd & Elm Sts., Elberfeld, Ind., (812) 983-4211, with burial in Susott Cemetery on Seven Hills Rd., Elberfeld.
Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, and 2 p.m. to service time Monday, at the funeral home.
