William “Bill” Charles Hirsch, Sr., 89, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at River Pointe Health Campus. He was born on August 4, 1929 to Joseph A. and Matilda (Herr) Hirsch in Evansville, IN. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Bill retired after 36 years AT&T. He started as a lineman for Indiana Bell then worked his way to be a Supervisor at AT&T. Bill loved his family, church, bowling and playing cards, and enjoyed working in his garden, yard and barn. He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters; his 1st wife, Phyllis in 2000 and his 2nd wife, Mary on December 20, 2018. Bill is survived by his six children, William C. Hirsch, Jr. (Pam) of Newburgh, Diane Flaherty (Marlin) of St. Meinard, Joycelyn Laflin (Mark) of Tell City, Michael Hirsch (Vickie) of Chandler, Ron Hirsch (Rob Caudill) of Louisville, KY, and Lorie Pullum (Scott) of Newburgh; step-children, Denise Fields (Mike), Lisa Schum (Curt), Julie Wetzel, Tim Dages (Brenda); siblings, Joseph F. Hirsch, Gene Hirsch, and Glenna Polz; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-four great- grandchildren. Bill was an awesome dad and left a great Legacy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd. Newburgh, IN, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Evansville, IN. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, December 28, with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Titzer Family Funeral Homes ~ Simpson Chapel, 510 W. Jennings St. Newburgh (812) 853-8314.
